Mary’s Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
| Sifted confectioners' sugar | 1 1/2 cups | |
| Butter | 1/2 cup | |
| Margarine | 1/2 cup | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Vanilla | 1 tsp. | |
| Almond Flavoring | 1/2 tsp. | |
| Flour | 2 1/2 cups | |
| Baking soda | 1 tsp. | |
| Cream of Tartar | 1 tsp. |
- Mix Sugar, butter and margarine.
- Add egg and flavorings; mix thoroughly.
- Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting. Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
- Heat oven to 375°. Divide dough in half and roll 3/16″ thick on lightly floured pastry cloth. Cut with cookie cutter; sprinkle with sugar.
- Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately golden
- Frost with tinted icing (powdered sugar mixed with milk)
